Psalms 9:6 (NAS)
The
enemy has come to an end in perpetual ruins, And Thou hast uprooted the cities;
the very memory of them has perished.
Psalms 9:6 (NIVUS)
Endless
ruin has overtaken the enemy, you have uprooted their cities; even the memory
of them has perished.
If you observe a bully, you will notice that he walks with a swagger and his language is coarse and harsh. He picks on those whom he perceives as weaker than he is. He believes he is invincible against them. However, he does not realize that "there is always a bigger fish."
Your enemy may be trying to bully you, thinking that he has the upper hand, but this way of thinking is flawed. He does not realize that soon he will find himself in a desolate place, where there is nothing but waste and decay. It is a place of drought and heat. This will be his perpetual end.
The cities in which your enemies lived will be pulled up by the roots. They will be destroyed and forsaken. No one will set up a memorial for them, for even their memory will perish. It will be as if they never existed.
The Lord Jehovah and those who belong to Him shall remain and continue for eternity. Because the Lord God always endures, so shall you. Adonai, the Most High God, has established His throne. From it, He renders proper judgment. He is faithful in dispensing justice. In this you can be confident.
