Psalms
77:11(NAS)
Psalms
77:11(NIV)
I will remember the deeds of the LORD;
yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
When you remember something, you are recognizing its importance. You mark it and mention it to others, so that they also see its importance. You continually bring it to mind, keeping it alive in your thoughts and words. Perhaps you even write of it in a journal to have ready access to it.
David, in his role as a psalmist, continually wrote of the acts, doings, endeavors, inventions, and works of the Lord. He knew that everything that God does is wonderful and worth remembering. There is much to glean from these memories.
Remembering the deeds of the Lord was so important to
David that he mentioned it twice in this one verse. He remembered the miracles
and the marvelous things that the Lord had done for him. He knew they were
worth separating them from his other thoughts, for they were great and
admirable.
The acts of the God are everlasting and important for us
to remember always. Remembering what He
has done will increase our faith and give us hope, when we are waiting on
Him. We know that He will come through
for us again, since He has done so in the past.
We can trust His character and His intentions now.
